Obstacle Course Racing: Philippines sweeps golds

BINAN, Philippines–The Philippine obstacle course racing team dominated Day 2 of the Southeast Asian Games OCR event at Filinvest City in Muntinlupa on Wednesday.

The quartet of Kyle Antolin, Kaizen dela Serna, Monolito Divina, and Deanne Nicole Moncada was the first to snag a gold after ruling the 400-meter, 12-obstacle mixed team assist with a three-minute, 48-second finish.

Malaysia took the silver, while Indonesia got the bronze in the said race.

Later in the day, Diana Buhler, Jeffrey Reginio, Klymille Rodriguez and Nathaniel Sanchez captured the gold in the four-man mixed team relay, finishing the race in less than two minutes.

Malaysia once again came in second.

On the other hand, Rochelle Suarez beat fellow Filipina Milky Tejares in a photo finish for the gold in the women’s 100-meter, 10-obstacle race.

Suarez crossed the finish line in 46 seconds, just a second ahead of Tejares.

The Philippines also dominated the men’s 100-meter, 10-obstacle podium as Kevin Pascua won the gold and Mark Rodelas getting the bronze.

Mohd Redha Rozlan of Malaysia took the silver.
