Demecillo loses vacant IBA World featherweight title fight

DAVAO CITY -- Marco "Singwancha" Demecillo of Iligan City lost in title bid by a unanimous decision for the vacant International Boxing Association World featherweight title against undefeated Ongen Saknosiwi of Indonesia on November 17 in Batu, Indonesia.

It was the 9th setback suffered by Demecillo against 24 wins and one draw, while Saknosiwi posted his 8th straight win with the 7th knockout.
Earlier this year, Saknosiwi also won by a knockout against Jufry Kakahure of Indonesia in the third round in the vacant Indonesia Professional Boxing Commission featherweight title last April 6 in Jakarta.
He then knocked out Nanthawat Maolichat of Thailand in the 4th round to win the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental featherweight title on Sept. 7 in Singapore.
The promoters of the boxing event are Urgyen Rinchen Sim and Raja Sapta Oktoharj of the Mahkota Promotions. (PNA)
